FAIRBURY – Jed Weise and Randy Weise will receive the Heartsaver Hero Award from the American Heart Association on Saturday, March 29, at a ceremony at 9:30 a.m. at the Fairbury Chamber of Commerce Spring Expo.
On Aug. 18, the Weises were instrumental in providing immediate CPR for Leland Ruhnke at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Cub Creek, near Jansen. Ruhnke has had a full recovery.
The Heartsaver Hero award is presented by the American Heart Association based on nominations from communities. The award is designed to recognize acts that advance the mission of the American Heart Association and Emergency Cardiovascular Care through a courageous act in an effort to save a life.
The public is encouraged to attend this presentation, which will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, in the 4-H building at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.
