FAIRBURY – The 6th Annual Fairbury Cycling Tour will take place on Saturday, May 3, beginning at the Bob and Wauneta Burkley Wellness Center in Fairbury. This is a fun-filled bicycle ride through Jefferson County.
Registration will be at the wellness center from 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. The ride begins at 8 a.m. Tour fee is $30 per single rider if postmarked by April 21 and will include the cycling tour t-shirt. Fee will be $35 per single rider after April 21 and will not include a shirt. All ages are welcome. Riders under age 18 must ride with a parent or guardian. Children age 12 and under ride free. No refunds or rain dates.
Distances offered will be 12, 25, 48, 60, and 70 miles. There will be rest stops along all routes along with a roving SAG vehicle. Rest stops and SAG vehicles will have water, food, and bike supplies. They will also be in touch with the registration site in case of emergencies. No SAG support will be offered after 2 p.m.
Food and showers will also be available for riders at the wellness center.
